Estrangement from family, especially when shaped by abuse or toxic dynamics, can leave lasting emotional wounds. Reclaiming Your Life is a compassionate workshop for adult children who have bravely set boundaries or distanced themselves from parents or caregivers in order to heal. This is a space where you can begin to break the silence surrounding your experiences, challenging the harmful messages that minimized your pain and upheld false narratives that only served to protect dysfunctional systems, masking the truth and perpetuating cycles of abuse and denial.
In this supportive environment, we will help you find your voice —giving you the freedom to speak your truth with clarity and compassion. You’ll explore the roots of generational trauma, confront the realities of family abuse, and begin the journey of reclaiming the life and freedom you always deserved.
This workshop will support you in healing your inner child, allowing them the safety and love they never received, and empowering you to chase your dreams without the weight of old family patterns holding you back. Through group discussions, reflective exercises, and healing practices, you’ll gain tools to set healthy boundaries, heal from estrangement, and step into a life where you can live with agency, authenticity, and a renewed sense of self-worth.
This workshop is your opportunity to finally embrace who you truly are, after years of surviving, and step boldly into the life you were always meant to live.
Participant Criteria and Exclusions
This workshop is specifically designed for adult children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or toxic dynamics within their families and have made the difficult yet empowering choice to set permanent boundaries in order to heal and reclaim their lives. If you’re ready to confront the false narratives that have kept you trapped in dysfunctional family systems and begin healing from family trauma and estrangement, this workshop will offer the tools, validation, and support to help you move forward.
This workshop is not appropriate for parents whose adult children are estranged from them. We ask that only those directly experiencing estrangement from parents or caregivers participate. While some participants may also be estranged from siblings or other family members, the focus of this workshop will be on estrangement from parents, as these dynamics often form the foundation for cycles of abuse and triangulation that impact the larger family systems.
Please Note: This group is offered exclusively to established clients of The Women's Center. Space is limited and registration will close once all spots are filled. Click the button below to complete our registration form.
